Grief Relief E-Gift

From all of us at Grief Gifts, we extend our most profound empathy to you during this difficult time. We are honored that you have entrusted us with your heart as you walk the path of grief. At Grief Gifts, we understand that the journey through grief is deeply personal and often overwhelming. We believe that the grieving journey is best navigated with mindfulness and intentionality at its core, and we have carefully created this resource to be a gentle companion on your journey.

Inside this e-gift, you will find guided meditations, somatic visualizations, and journal prompts designed to help you make sense of your world after loss.

Sometimes, when we feel overwhelmed by grief but still have to show up for our job, family, or community, it’s healthy to schedule private time to fully grieve so we aren’t shutting down our emotions or having them spontaneously spill out during inconvenient times. These practices are for those private moments when you want to identify what’s happening in your mind and body to get clarity and connection.

First, we are pleased to offer a two-week meditation series hosted by meditation teacher and Co-Founder, Jake Nelson. Jake believes that meditation is a crucial part of the healing process, as it allows us to cultivate the skills of mindfulness, compassion, and, most importantly, acceptance. Each day, you'll explore different themes, from holding space for your grief to finding strength within your community, all aimed at gently guiding you towards presence and peace. To further support your journey, we have included a series of journal prompts to encourage self-reflection and create a healthy outlet for the times when challenging emotions arise. These prompts help you articulate your thoughts, feelings, and memories, providing a safe space to process your grief.

Additionally, you will find four somatic visualizations led by Co-Founder, Kate Vosti, who brings her extensive expertise in somatic healing and lovingkindness techniques to help you connect with your body, release stuck emotions, explore your senses in Nature, and tenderly care for yourself in the darkest moments. Meditation is about opening and relaxing with whatever arises. It's not meant to escape pain; it's not supposed to repress anything, nor is it intended to encourage grasping at feeling “good.” We are simply relaxing into what is without judgment. We're not trying to solve any problems; we're just being kind toward ourselves like we'd be kind and supportive of a friend. By applying somatic techniques, we offer relief from some of the tension and aches your body might be experiencing from the stress of grief. It’s important to note that what we offer should not be treated as a replacement for intervention from a licensed therapist but rather complementary.

We have traveled through our own chapters of grief and hope that you, too, find the solace and perseverance we discovered within these guided experiences. With heartfulness,
